Agency, parlour, studio — why they are filed apart
Three kinds of business share this page and they are separated because they do not work the same way.
An agency takes the booking. You contact the agency rather than the companion, the agency does the screening, confirms a time and tells her where to be, and the rates quoted are the agency's rates. If an evening goes badly there is a desk to take the complaint, which is most of the reason agencies still exist in a world where anybody can advertise for herself.
A massage parlour is a place rather than a service. It has an address, opening hours and a rota of attendants that turns over from one day to the next, and people generally arrive instead of booking. That rota is why a parlour's listing links out to its own schedule instead of reproducing it here: a copy is stale by Tuesday, and a stale schedule is worse than no schedule.
A studio sits in between — a fixed room with a small regular group working out of it, usually arranged with whoever is on that day. If you want the difference between booking a house and booking a person set out properly, that comparison has its own page.
What a business listing contains
Every page in this section is built from the same skeleton: name, city, the area of town, a street address where the business publishes one, phone, email, website, and photographs the business supplied. Where a house keeps its daily schedule somewhere else, we link to it.
What a listing does not contain is our opinion. There is no score, no star rating and no ranking. Featured placement moves a card up the page and is labelled as such; beyond that the order carries no meaning, and nothing anybody pays for changes a word of what members write.
Two words on this site mean two different things and it is worth keeping them apart. Checked means somebody looked at the listing before it went up, which is true of all of them. Verified is the badge, and it means the business sent us a photograph taken for us — a dated sign with its own name on it. A listing without the badge has not failed anything. It has simply not sent the photograph yet.
Reviews live on the board, not on the listing
This is the point of the whole arrangement. A house cannot start, edit or delete a thread about itself. Reviews sit in the city review sections of the forum, under the account of whoever wrote them, where the house has no more control than anybody else.
Toronto's agency and parlour sections hold most of what has been written so far, with Montréal's beginning to fill. Where a business has threads they are linked from the bottom of its listing. Where it has none, the listing says none, and what makes a review worth reading is worth five minutes before you weigh any of them.
Getting a business listed
Free while we build each city out, with the same caveat as everywhere else on this site: free for now, and you will hear from us before that changes rather than after. One forum account, one form, live inside a day.
Agencies and parlours also get posting access to the advertiser sections for their city, which is where a daily rota belongs and where an independent's listing does not go. The steps are here, and what a parlour visit actually involves is worth reading if this is unfamiliar.
